I think that unlike other courses in high school, technology design is one of the few that actually gives us an experience on the real world. For example, all the many processes involved in making one product. Not only that, all the factors that needed to be involved such as the budget, design process, the need’s assessment, the manufacturing, etc. Designing it, manufacturing it, and how you want it are very different things since you’d have to thoroughly think how to make the whole product work out. This course has always given me experiences about the production industry and the processes before that and I’ve really learned a lot from it.
Technology Design was one of the courses, I think, were purely based on projects to learn since I’ve certainly have had more projects in this course than any other but in this course, we’ve had literally no take-home homework either since usually we’d work on computers. I think it was a very independent class compared to others since there wasn’t really a whole concept where you could just learn just like that. It was more of a you-do-you-learn kind of experience. I think it was very student-centered since the main point of high school courses is to teach the students but not many have actual outside world experience given to us unlike this course. Throughout the course, there weren’t many activities that we would do together since this course, I feel, is more on the independent study yet there are times when we would sit at desks and listen and jot down notes. At the same time with all the time we use the computer, it sometimes feel as if we haven’t really learned anything at all.
I got my certificate for Passport to Safety on February 3rd, 2010. This certification means that I am aware and have the knowledge of the safety regulations in a workplace. If any of you would like to test yourselves out to see if you know your safety regulations in a workplace, the site will be provided for you at the bottom of the picture.

PS: It’s good for your resume!
Writing has always been in my interests. I love the way words can help me vividly imagine an image in my mind. As a hobby and interest, I would write short stories, a long paragraph of some things that caught my interest, jot down some notes so I won’t forget, or just simply writing down the feelings I’ve had on a particular day. I also have a huge interest in poem writing and I’ve actually written a few poems myself. Although I’m not a big fan of constantly reading books, I wouldn’t mind a thrilling novel. If I could, I would also like to follow a path of writing such as going into the publishing industry nd becoming an editor. Of course, if possible, I would like to be a writer myself.
I have always loved architecture! I am very determined to pursue in this career! I have and am currently taking the necessary courses in high school to achieve my goal. Many people have asked me this same question, “Interior or exterior?” The complete question would be: Do you want to do interior design or exterior design? To all the people who have asked, I told them I would like to do both interior and exterior design. Why? Well…the reason is simple! Designing both interior and the exterior of a building is like finishing a puzzle completely by yourself. If I decide to only design for the interior of a building then I would only finish 50% of the puzzle and the other 50% would be given to somebody else to finish. I don’t think that feels very accomplished at all. Of course, in the architect industry, many things must be considered. For example, the budget, the land, and the people involved. But if giving a project halfway to somebody else, the concept of my design may not be understand by someone who only knew how to decorate the exterior without the slightest idea of making the interior and exterior match. It is like having a Valentine themed interior while the exterior is decorated with Christmas holiday spirit.
Am I rambling?
The last university that I would like to apply to is Waterloo University which is most famous for its arithmetic. Although the art programs in Waterloo are not as excellent as McGill or Ryerson, it is still a well-known university. Two of my cousins are currently attending Waterloo University. My first cousin, who is in his last year, has taken the Accounting and Finance path in Waterloo and has decided to become an accountant. If I were to apply to this university, I think I would follow in his steps and proceed in a career with math and calculation.
McGill University is another university famous for its architecture programs. I would also like to attempt to apply to this university also. Because McGill University is located in Quebec, Canada, knowing fluent French is also a good option if I wish to be accepted into McGill so I decided to take the French course in high school for all 4 years. Although, the people at McGill mainly speak English, it wouldn’t hurt to take the French course. The expectations for this university is also high. I know this because my friend’s sister did not get accepted into McGill even though she had a 85 average. McGill University might be a little bit harder for me to be accepted into compared to Ryerson University but I’m willing to, although it may sound cliché, give all my effort into the last 2 years that I have into my school work.
